Popinjay is a design and production studio with a passion for fabrics, colour, texture and all things nature. We absolutely love botanicals and you will find that this is a recurring theme in so many of our products. In the creating process we are constantly exploring new mediums. Screen printing, sun prints and cyanotypes, sketches that transform into prints on runners and tablecloths, plant collections imprint images on cushions or exquisite handbags, tannin rich leaves and dyes leave organic and magical natural artworks on silk. Most designs would start off with much inspiration from nature. Always on the lookout for interesting new plant materials on any outing or travels, grasses and leaves are pressed for later use as reference material or perfect shadow images for light sensitive paints.
